Oroqen, a brave and strong ethnic hunting minority nationality, lives in stretch in an unbroken chain virJing forest. They mainly dwell on in Oroqen Autonomous County in Heilongjiang Province. The rich and beautiful earth gives birth to a more and more developing ethnic nation. No matter men or women are good at riding a horse and hunting. A horse is a good friend and accompanier; it can do great help in their daily life. A hunting dog is also a good assistant in hunting beasts. Fur clothes is convenient in climbing mountains and going through forests in their last days, but now they have gone into a modern life, and cloth has taken the place of fur; they get fur clothes on only in some important occasions, such as festival and so on.

They take etiquette important. An elder person is respected on every occasion: a young man should give way, the old man may be get knock head on important occasion and he will be enquired views.

They don't call beast of pray names directly, such as for a tiger, they call it 'bao ru kan' (means god), or 'muru caiwen geqi' (long tail); for a bear they call'A maha'(very respectable). When a man goes out hunting, he will tell nobody where he will go and he does not make any plans for a hunting event. When a bear is hurt, a ceremony will be held.

Fire is god for the people who live in the chill area. A person is not allowed get across over fire or play knife and wood pole. They hold needfire festival on river bank or street square when it is sunset. On every traditional August fifteen, they offer a sacrifice to the moon, which is for hunting.

They believe in Shamanism and worship nature, they believe there is a spirit on everything.

After three times of popping the question, a young man and a young woman can be engaged in, and on the same day, the boy may live with his girl, after then the girl will tangle her two plaits on head. On wedding day, the bridegroom will go to the bride's family and stay, and on the second day, the bride will be accept to her husband's family. If they have a baby during these days, the baby will show to public.

Dance is to show good will. They can imitate actions of animals and birds. Another kind of dance is called 'Yihe Naren' for rites, which dance when pass down pedigree in past. Harmonica and darobokka are two main kinds of music instrument.

Oral literature is more developing. A legend tells the oriJingal of the human kind. Hunting experience and lives can also be traced from stories.

Women can embroider production of fur and cloth. All kinds of lovely animals and birds can be vividly displayed from hats, clothes, and shoes. They also can carve beautiful design on utensils, which makes them also delicate handicraft. Paper and birch bark are also where they can show their skills for art craft.
