Uygur nationality keeps itself unique culture and art. There were many marvelous litterateurs, historiography and translators in history, who wrote down many important books to reflect the history, culture and language. SinJingg and dance are part of their lives. Many kinds of epics are treasures. Huge delicate arras with designs are particularly unique. Silk art become two parts of Hetian and Kashi; the former is with simple color and rough design, and the later is colorful and bright. Besides, the traditional handicrafts are embroidery, colorful hat, copper-kettle and instruments. Jade in Hetian is famous.

No matter old or young, he likes 'Naiba' ( a kind of little flowery hat). Naiba is decorated with white and black designs. Earring, bracelet and necklace are popular among women. They also paint eyebrow and dye nail when have all dolled up,

Traditional houses are in shape of squareness with a sky window. The roof of which is smooth which can dry fruits and foodstuff. Solid earth bed is set for rest. Habitacle is mounted in walls, which is used to put on things. Tapestry decorates walls. Firewall is for warm in winter, and the side of which is for guests.

They are famous for keep open doors. Tea is necessary to entertain a guest, and they will pour tea frequently. Don't smell when having a meal and don't touch food. Remains in a dish is not good. When a guest stay a night to be keep tidy.

There are taboos according to the Islam, such as a jacket must long enough still knees; when sleeping, don't head toward east or hands and feet stretch. Accept or present things with both hands.

A woman can not marry a non-Islam man, but a man can marry a non-Islam woman who must obey Islam. Imam is necessary for a marriage.
A bury custom is according rules of Islam. When one is dying, his relatives come to say goodbye; his children listen to his last will; a imam seals paper to prove. When he is died, a imam will drop some holy water into his mouth pray his entering heaven. His body will be tangled with white cloth and sprayed fragrant. Before burying a imam read lection, and all present people put a hand of mud on the body for a welfare. Women are not allowed into the campo santo, neither does his wife nor girl-children.

Special cultural arts
Many outstanding litterateurs, historiographer and translators emerged in Uygurs' history. Ta·Tonga, a linguist historiographer and translator, created the earliest Mongolia litter; Lu Mingshan, an agriculturalist wrote down Views on agriculture, Yusup· Hasjifu wrote down a long narration poem Happy and Wisdom.

Uygur people are good at sinJingg and dancing. Their style of dance is smart, graceful.
Huge tapestry is famous.
