Boat Pullers on the Wujiang River
|
| Wu Jiuling(China) |
| The source of the Wujiang River is in Wumengshan
Mountain in Guizhou Province. In the past, boat pullers were the only force
available to help boats pass through the channel. Now they have mostly been
replaced by machines, but it is still possible to see them hard at work
pulling cargo boats against the hard current. On the outskirts of the Chongqing city lives a group of boat pullers. |
