Inserting Arrow Festival

  It is a religious ceremony to worship the god of the mountain in southern Gansu Province, where Tibetan people live. The god of the mountain was once a mighty general. People plant arrows on the mountain where he was killed to bless his soul and ask for his protection.  
   
  2. People settle down at the foot of the mountain.  
   
  3. At 3 o'clock in the morning, they started out.  
   
  4. At dawn, they arrived the top of the mountain.  
   
  5. Butter, parched flour and highland barley are burnt at the beginning of the ceremony.  
   
  6. They are throwing "Fengma", which means horse in the wind. At the same time, they are calling the name of the god to bless them.
