The Siping Opera originated in Huizhou, of Anhui
Province, China, in the Jiajin period of the Ming Dynasty. At the end of
the Ming Dynasty, the opera spread to Zhenghe County, Fujian Province. Since
1982, the 78-year old Zhang Chengzhao, the 12th generation of the opera,
began enrolling students. |
