January of Lunar Calendar in Northern Shannxi Province


	1. From January 3rd (during the Spring Festival), the yangko performance troupe starts to visit the villager one by one.

	2. The ritual of inviting god begins in early January.

	3. The drummer, bannerman and the team of gong and drum are followed by the guard of honor in the inviting god ritual.

	4. With the firecrackers set off, the statues of gods are placed in the canyon.

	5. The boys and girls of the yangko troupe prepare the offerings for gods in the temple.

	6. Several waistdrum teams happen to meet and naturally a competition follows.

	7. The yellow papers with auspicious words are tied to the top of the poles.

	8. The temple fair.

	9. The ancestral worshipping rite.

	10. Offering sacrifices to the gods.
