A strange harvest ritual still survives in central Russia . Town woman mourn the death of a fake doll dressed up like a grandmother and a mock funeral is performed along with festive antics to welcome in the spring harvest and the death of winter. After the doll is torn apart in the cemetery a picnic and drinking end the day.
